After the successful Business Delegation to Dar Es Salaam – Tanzania from 4th to 7th July 2023, coinciding with the esteemed visit of Dr. S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Government of India, a significant step towards fostering a transformative partnership unfolded. The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and the High Commission of the United Republic of Tanzania, in collaboration with Marketing Assistance and Research Support (MARS), organzied “India-Tanzania Investment Forum and Roadshow”. This collaborative effort aimed at cultivating a substantial alliance between two forward-looking nations, poised to impact over two billion people in Africa and India, fostering inclusive and sustainable growth. These investment forum and roadshows were held in key locations of India:

  1. 15th – 17th January, 2024: Ahmedabad, Gujarat
  2. 18th -19th January, 2024: Pune, Maharashtra
  1. 21st -22nd January, 2024: Bengaluru, Karnataka

The journey commenced in Ahmedabad, where Tanzanian delegates engaged in sightseeing at Sabarmati Riverfront and Adalaj Stepwell. Subsequently, a visit to Swift Solution Overseas Education Consultant followed by a press conference and traditional Gujarati Dinner. The Tanzania-India investment forum and roadshow, organized by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries, highlighted various business opportunities in Tanzania for the Indian sector.

At Pune, factory visit to Ecozen Solution was organized,it is a global player in food technology. The next day included a visit to Radheya Machining Limited, exploring the manufacturing of automotive parts in India, followed by the Tanzania–India investment forum organized by the Global India Business Forum, along with sector-wise B2B meetings.

The final stop in Bengaluru showcased several B2B meetings between investors and Tanzanian delegates. On 22nd January, the delegation explored factory visit to Sanjay Polymers witnessing various customized extruded products like plastic profiles. The visit concluded with a tour of Omplast Inc, a leading manufacturer of plumbing accessories and bathroom fixtures.

During the roadshow, India- Tanzania Investment Forums were organized by leading chambers of commerce and industry associations, serving as platforms for insightful discussions across diverse business sectors. The Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the forum in Ahmedabad, the Global India Business Forum took charge in Pune, and the Karnataka State Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) organized a notable Tanzania-India Investment Forum in Bengaluru. These forums played a crucial role in elucidating the myriad business opportunities available in Tanzania, fostering meaningful exchanges and collaborations. These forums helped in successfully achieving the following objectives:

  1. Actively facilitated meaningful engagements between Tanzanian and Indian businesses, laying the groundwork for potential partnerships and long-lasting collaborations.
  2. Successfully highlighted and showcased the diverse investment opportunities and immense business potential that Tanzania has to offer, providing valuable insights to the participating stakeholders.
  3. Effectively showcased the Manufacturing and Service Solutions by visiting various factories, creating a platform for them to exhibit their capabilities and expertise on an international stage.
  4. Fostered a dynamic environment that facilitated networking and knowledge exchange among participants, allowing for the sharing of insights, experiences, and expertise in the realms of business and investment.
