1. Introduction

India–Angola Business Delegation (11th–16th February 2026) marked an important chapter in strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between the Republic of India and the The Republic of Angola. Organized by MARS (Marketing Assistance and Research Support) in collaboration with the Angola–India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AICCI), the mission was conducted in association with Mr. Caetano Capitão, President of AICCI, and with the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in India under the esteemed leadership of H.E. Mr. Clemente Pedro Francisco Camenha, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Angola to India. His proactive diplomatic guidance and steadfast support significantly contributed to the success of the mission, reinforcing strong institutional commitment to bilateral engagement.

The visit reflected a shared commitment to fostering economic ties, promoting knowledge exchange, and expanding sustainable trade and investment collaborations between private sector enterprises and government institutions of both nations, while also strengthening cultural and institutional partnerships.

2. Delegation Overview & Purpose

The delegation comprised senior business leaders and decision-makers representing diverse industries. It was led by:

      Mrs. Rekha Sharma – Founder, MARS (Marketing Assistance and Research Support); Managing Director, Himfresh Organics Pvt. Ltd.

The mission was conducted in association with Mr. Caetano Capitão, President of the Angola–India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AICCI), reinforcing institutional commitment to bilateral engagement.

The primary objectives were to:

      Engage with key Angolan government ministries and institutions

      Promote institutional collaboration and business partnerships

      Understand regulatory frameworks and investment environment

      Facilitate business dialogue, networking, and MoU-level commitments

      Explore opportunities across sectors such as trade facilitation, logistics, agro-industries, energy, and entrepreneurship

 

3. Delegation Itinerary & Highlights

11th February 2026 – Arrival & Official Welcome

The delegation arrived in Luanda, where it was formally received by the team of the Angola–India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AICCI) along with members of the Indian diaspora. A vibrant traditional Angolan cultural performance welcomed the delegates, setting a warm and celebratory tone at the outset of the mission.

This gracious welcome underscored Angola’s appreciation for international engagement and highlighted the strong people-to-people ties that support the growing economic partnership between India and Angola.

12th February 2026 – Angola–India Business Forum

A major highlight of the delegation was the Angola–India Business Forum, held on 12th February 2026 at Epic Sana Hotel, Luanda. The forum brought together senior government officials, institutional leaders, business representatives, and stakeholders from both countries.

Key highlights of the forum included:

      National Anthems of Angola and India

      Cultural performances showcasing Angolan heritage

      Welcome address by Mr. Caetano Capitão, President of the Angola–India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AICCI)

      Address by Mrs. Rekha Sharma, Founder of MARS and Head of the Indian Business Delegation

      Address by H.E. Abel Mavungo, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission, Angolan Embassy in India

      Opening address by the Guest of Honour, H.E. Carlos Manuel de Carvalho Rodrigues, Secretary of State of Industry, Angola

A key milestone of the forum was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AICCI and MARS, marking a formal step toward strengthening institutional cooperation and promoting bilateral trade and investment.

The forum also featured:

      Presentations by AIPEX (Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency of Angola)

      Presentation on the Dande Free Zone

      Business presentations by participating Indian companies

      Structured B2B meetings, facilitating direct interaction between Indian and Angolan enterprises

 

 

The day concluded with an official networking dinner, further strengthening business and institutional relationships.

13th February 2026 – High-Level Institutional Engagement

On 13th February 2026, the delegation visited the High Commission of India in Angola to meet Dr. Vidhu P. Nair, Honourable Ambassador of India to Angola. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral economic cooperation, exploring institutional support mechanisms, and strengthening the business ecosystem for Indian and Angolan enterprises

During the visit, both sides exchanged perspectives on strategic cooperation in sectors including trade facilitation, investment promotion, skills development, and institutional linkages.

The delegation also had the honour of meeting Téte António, Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola. The meeting provided an important opportunity to discuss avenues for strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between India and Angola. H.E. Mr. António appreciated initiatives aimed at promoting business collaboration and emphasized the importance of encouraging greater participation of Indian enterprises in Angola’s development and investment landscape. The interaction reaffirmed the shared commitment of both sides to deepen bilateral engagement, facilitate trade and investment, and foster long-term institutional partnerships between the two nations.

4. AICCI–MARS Strategic Cooperation

A significant milestone of the mission was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AICCI (Angola–India Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and MARS (Marketing Assistance and Research Support).
 This MoU is designed to institutionalize cooperation in the following areas:

      Trade and Investment Promotion: Facilitating the entry of Indian and Angolan companies into each other’s markets

      Business Delegation Exchanges: Structured visits, trade forums, and sectoral meetings

      Market Research and Advisory: Supporting enterprises with market intelligence, feasibility studies, and regulatory guidance

      Joint Initiatives: Collaborative projects, networking platforms, and institutional dialogues

 

This strategic partnership sets the foundation for sustainable, long-term economic collaboration between Indian businesses and the Angolan commercial ecosystem.
