


Tanzania Investment Centre and High Commission of United Republic of Tanzania in association with Marketing Assistance and Research Support (MARS) organized “India Tanzania Business Forum and Roadshow” for the partnership between two modern and vibrant nations as a very defining and substantial relationship that will work for the good of two billion people of Africa and India for inclusive and sustainable growth.
These events were organized at the following states of India:
- 12th October 2023 at Hotel Radisson MBD Blu, Noida, Uttar Pradesh
- 14th October 2023 at The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Surat, Gujarat
- 15th October 2023 at Marigold Hotel, Hyderabad, Telangana
The event commenced with the warm welcome extended to Her Excellency Mrs. Anisa K. Mbega, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania. This was followed by a comprehensive presentation on the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), the primary agency of the government responsible for coordinating, promoting, facilitating, and advising the government on all matters related to investments and investment policy. In addition to TIC, the event featured presentations from prominent organizations including the Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority, the Medical Service Department, SINOTAN Industrial Park, and the Exports Processing Zone Authority.
During the India-Tanzania Business Forum and Roadshow in Surat, delegates had the incredible opportunity to visit Bhanderi – Lab Grown Diamonds, a shining example of innovation and excellence in the industry. This visit was not just about admiring the brilliance of lab-grown diamonds but also to promote and strengthen trade and investment ties between India and Tanzania. It’s inspiring to witness how businesses like Bhanderi are playing a pivotal role in bridging the gap and fostering collaboration.
It was very well presented and explained during presentations that Tanzania’s strategic location on the East African Coast makes it an ideal economic hub and gateway to the sea for five landlocked countries: Burundi, Rwanda, DRC, Malawi, Zambia, and Uganda. Its location also provides easy access to substantial overseas markets. This, coupled with the above-mentioned traits, speaks volumes about Tanzania’s vast economic and social opportunities. These allow any investor to come and explore investment priorities.
The objectives of these events were successfully met which are as follows:
- Foster bilateral relations and partnerships between Tanzanian and Indian businesses.
- Showcase investment opportunities and business potential in Tanzania.
- Showcase Manufacturing and Service solution (GCCI members) 8 Industrial Areas of Gujarat.
- Facilitate networking and knowledge exchange among participants.
